Life in Pieces
Life in pieces chronicles the lives of three generations of the Short family as they go about their daily lives. Every single episode comprise of 4 different stories based on 4 members of the the same family so you get to experience everyone’s hilarious prospective of life, work and relationships.
Each story is 5 to 7 minutes long and contributes to the main story. The Short family is funny, kind, little bit crazy and full of love. The series talks a great deal about the values of family, siblings and relationship in its own lively amusing way. It’s kinda like ‘Modern Family’. If you like ‘Modern Family’, give it a go.
Some episodes are really good and some are bit boring but overall it’s enjoyable and makes for a decent sitcom to binge .
American Crime Story
Similar to ‘American Horror Story’, ‘American Crime Story’ is an anthology series. Both seasons, ‘People Vs O. J. Simpson’ and ‘Assassination of Gianni Versace’ are based on true crimes.
The first season ‘People Vs O. J. Simpson’ explores the murder trial of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
The second season examines the assassination of legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace and the story of his sociopathic serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
Both seasons of American crime story make an outstanding mini series. The show has a brilliant ensemble cast. Everyone’s acting is brilliant and flawless. Mainly Darren Criss’s acting is phenomenal. He has been nominated and won every award for his portrayal as Andrew Cunanan. The series is well thought-out and executed perfectly. It’s must watch for crime drama lovers. It won’t disappoint you.

But John believes his life experience, compassion and maturity will make him a better cop. He is determined to prove them wrong and be a cop despite the challenges thrown in his way.
After I have finished watching ‘Castle’, I guess I kinda missed seeing Nathan on television. So I started watching The Rookie only to see him again. I didn’t expect much when I started watching this show but it turned out to be good one. I really liked the show.
It’s mostly light-hearted but packs enough actions and suspense to keep you up on edge the of your seat. And for the procedural drama it is not boring at all. Nathan as usual is amazing and played his role to perfection .The rest of the cast is brilliant too.
It’s comedy, action, romance and subtle drama makes for a wholesome entertainer.
Better things is the best series I found in 2020. Where do I even start with? – This is one of the series I cannot talk enough of. The show is freaking awesome. I really loved the show.
Sam Fox is a single mother, a divorced Hollywood actress struggling to raise her three daughters and also focussing on her professional commitments. The series captures her hillarious and bittersweet challenges she faces in her daily life.
Sam’s character is hillarious. She is so raw. There are no filters involved and there is no sugar-coating. I loved Sam’s relationship with her daughters. The thing I love most about the show is it is realistic. Out of all shows I have ever watched, this is the only show that feels real and hits home.
It’s refreshing to see a main character whose life is not all perfect, whose romantic relationship is not all mushy and melting. There are no cheesy dialogues and over-dramatic plotlines. It unapologetically focusses her flaws, outrages and messiness.
Pamela Aldon is fantastic as a writer, director and an actor. The show has a feel good vibes. There is something about the show. After every episode, it leaves me with the deep feeling of warmth.
‘Better Things’ is hugely under-rated. I so love this show. I want more episodes. I don’t want the series to end any time soon. I want Pamela to continue this precious series for as many seasons as possible. Better things has 4 seasons, 42 episodes and it has been renewed for a fifth season. So go binge watch the whole series before fifth season returns in 2021.
Good girls is an another fantastic series I found out last year. The show is so good, so brilliant. I can’t recommend enough of this show. Over the course of 3 seasons, the show has gained an enormous fanbase.
The series follow three sub-urban moms, Beth, her sister Annie and their friend Ruby who are having a hard-time trying to make ends meet. In desperate need of money, they decided to pull off an heist by robbing a super-market. New to the game of crime, they get pulled in deeper than they have ever imagined as it got them working under Rio, a gang leader who is laundering money. Soon their lives change from doing carpool and baking muffins to counterfeiting and washing money.
The show is legit awesome. The casting is amazing. They all fit perfectly together. The chemistry between them jumps off the screen. The story line flows smoothly. Once you start watching the show, you cannot take your eyes off of it. It will keep you hooked up. Every episode ends at the perfect cliffhanger making you go for more. It’s so full of twist, so much suspense and a lots of humor. It’s not like typical crime drama. It’s something new. It’s exciting and unpredictable.
I cannot talk about Good girls without mentioning Rio. He is a gangster. He is intimidating, dangerous, scary and yet he has this tendency to make you fall for him and make you root for him. Manny Montanna as Rio is a delight to watch. His acting is sensational.
Do yourself a help and watch this show the first thing if you haven’t watched it. You’ll be hooked up.
Never have I ever
‘Never have I ever’ is of the most talked Netflix series of last year. No wonder the series is hyped over coz it’s really good. It follows around Devi, an Indian-American student struggling to regain her social status in high school after having a socially horrible freshmen year. So Devi and her friends tries to re-brand themselves as cool with an attempt to catch the attention of Paxton.
Paxton is the hottest guy in the school and Devi’s hopeless crush. How you can be cool and famous without having nemesis in high school, right? But she already has a nemesis. Ben Gross and Devi have been vying for the number one spot in the class since first grade. Her struggles with depression and grief over the loss of her father, fallout and fights with her friends and family, trying to outrank a nemesis and attempting to win Paxton heart follows the rest of the story.
I really enjoyed the show. It is light-hearted, funny and exhilarating. It is not so often you get to see an Indian family in a mainstream American web series especially a Tamil family. It is really exciting to see a Tamil family and it’s quarrels on the Netflix screen. It talks variety of topics. It has more substance to it than just high school romance and drama. I really liked the story narration style by John McEnroe.
Why former tennis player John McEnroe is narrating the story of Devi? – You have to watch the whole series to know why. It’s a 10 part series so it will really be a quick binge. I’m really excited for the second season. If you are looking for a high school drama which talks a lot about family and friends look nowhere.
Bless this mess
Newlyweds Rio and Mike make the decision to change the course of their life together and move from the relentless pace of big city New York to what they think will be a more relaxed existence in rural Nebraska.
After dropping everything — including their jobs and an overbearing mother-in-law — to make the move from skyscrapers to farmhouses, they soon realize that the simpler life isn’t as easy as they had planned. Rio and Mike must now learn how to weather the storm, plough the land and how to raise chickens and pigs as they face with unexpected challenges in their new lives as farmers with little to no money .
This one I found by accident. It is a fun riot. Lake Bell and Dax Shepard played off their roles beautifully. But the secondary characters completely stole the show. They are extremely entertaining and humorous.
The story and characters are unique from the regular sitcoms. I enjoyed watching both seasons and I’m very much looking forward to watch season 3. But, unfortunately, the series was not renewed by the network. Though, it still make a great binge.
